ROCK CLIMBING COURSES
WEEKEND ROCK CLIMBING COURSE
These two days are designed to run on a 1:2 basis and can either a/ introduce non-climbers to climbing or b/ improve and consolidate the skills of anyone whom has climbed for a while but are after technical instruction so that they may improve their technique. Skills covered include tying on, lead climber belaying, seconding, abseiling, gear placement and retrieval and, where appropriate or requested, lead climbing. The 1:2 ratio allows the maximum amount of time practising various climbing skills.
ROCK CLIMBING WEEK
This course covers a variety of rock climbing skills,.from entry level through to single-pitch leading. Many topics will be covered during the week, including route choice, belaying, bottom roping, gear placement, leading and abseiling.
IMPROVISED RESCUE
This course is ideally suited to climbers who wish to ensure that their technical skills are at a level whereby they can look after their partner in the event of an issue of some kind. Suitable belay systems, assisted and unassisted hoists, escaping the system, best-practice personal abseiling, Y-hang and stacked abseils are all covered, as are many other topics.
This course will generally run over two days although an intensive one-day course could be arranged.
